Why First Aid for the Soul?

Kids are resilient. And trauma doesn’t have to define them. Many can benefit from help from a counselor or therapist. But what to do while they wait? Lala’s Journey puts a “First Aid Kit for the Soul” in the hands of someone available right now to help. Even if you are not a professional care giver, you can give first aid for the soul—just like someone who is not a doctor can give first aid after an accident.

Lala’s Journey, the book, encourages kids during their own journey. It can be a stand-alone gift for families. The 5-week curriculum helps you create a safe space for children to practice new skills and build community. Before receiving the curriculum, you’ll be provided training that covers how to give help without causing further hurt, and how to share and practice helpful skills that kids can repeat in their daily lives.

Just two hours a week can change a life. Why not start today?

Meet the team.

The Lala’s Journey book, activity set, and training are the result of a collaboration between three organizations.

Thank you also to the many friends who helped make this resource available. Many individual and groups have donated to help provide the scholarships available. An extra thanks to those who used their professional skills in the areas of translation, project management, web design, and others, to help kids find balance in life.
